Will has been sailing since the age of 10, initially competing in Olympic pathway dinghy classes such as the Optimist, Laser and 29er. Based in Weybridge, Surrey Will’s of Queen Mary reservoir provided an excellent base to learn to sail and race. At the age of 11 Will was selected for the National sailing team in the optimist and remained a member for 7 years as he progressed into bigger and faster dinghy classes. Will represented Great Britain at multiple World, European and National championships and in 2009 was national champion of the Laser 4.7 Dinghy class.
Will began his solo offshore sailing career in 2013 when he was one of only 3 selected for the Artemis Offshore Academy based on the Isle of Wight. He has raced and trained in the Figaro part-time alongside a full time university degree. Having graduated university in June 2015, he is now working full-time towards the La Solitaire Bompard – Le Figaro 2016.
