DATE OF BIRTH: 26 May 1999
Joss started racing as a child in Topper dinghys and 29ers, After university he studied for his commercial maritime qualifications and started work on the Bessie Ellen, a 120 year old West Country Trading Ketch. He got the opportunity to do the Round Ireland Race on legendary French race yacht Pen Duick VI and did the delivery to Lorient after. Through the race and the scene of professionalism in La Base, Joss was convinced that he wanted to join the French Offshore sailing scene. To gain funds and experience Joss applied for a job as the First Mate on the Clipper Round the World Race 2023-2024 where he and his team of amatuer sailors achieved 2nd overall with race wins in the Southern Ocean and North Atlantic. With this experience as well as assistance from the Griffin project Joss came 2nd and 3rd in the Italian Figaro 3 regatta Nastro Rosa. This gave him the confidence to launch a French Figaro 3 campaign with a 4th position in the Defi Paprec in the first year. Now the project progresses to solo offshore racing and aims for the Solitaire in 2026.
