In 2026, the Classe Figaro Beneteau, will host this new race, offering skippers a demanding new event that will energize the season with a high-level sporting challenge.
Organized by society, EG'EAU, this race will run from the Vendée to Portugal and back.

The fourth and final leg of the 2026 French Elite Offshore Racing Championship, *L’aventure* – a new double-handed race with a weighting of 3 – will take place next summer, from 19 August to 13 September, with two legs on the programme :
Leg 1: 1,600 miles over 8–9 days from Port Bourgenay to Lagos (Portugal) via Madeira
Leg 2: 783 miles (departure on Sunday 6 September), ending on the Île d’Yeu.
Guillaume Rottée will serve as race director for this new event, launched by Estelle Graveleau, former director of the Class Figaro Beneteau and organizer of three editions of the Sardinha Cup in 2019, 2021, and 2022. For this event, she wanted to offer skippers a course different from those they are used to on the circuit, featuring a round trip between the Vendée and Portugal. Hence the name “Aventura,” which evokes travel and discovery.
“Since the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec is taking place this year in May and June, the class wanted to launch a new race at the end of the summer so that the Championnat de France Elite Course au Large would span the entire season. Given the high coefficient assigned to this race, we’ll have to wait until the end of this event to find out who the French champion is,” explains Marcus Hutchinson, a member of the racing committee and vice president of the Classe Figaro Beneteau.
He added, “The goal was also to take the riders to new places and offer them a real stopover, so they would have time to explore the destination and spend time together. They also requested longer distances, which will be particularly true of the first leg of L’Aventura—which, incidentally, covers the first third of the Transat Paprec (the next edition of which will take place in the spring of 2027)—allowing them to test out a lot of things."
Please note :
In Lagos, the stopover will benefit from strong local support, with backing from the city and the Lagos Marina, as well as the Hotel Marina Club Lagos Resort, the Sopromar shipyard, Soproyachts, and the Lagos Sailing Club. “All of these entities will welcome the fleet, the crews, and the organizing team, thereby helping to establish Lagos as a premier port for major international sailing events,” said Rodrigo Rato, the driving force behind L’Aventura in Portugal.
As for the return leg, it will end on Île d’Yeu, a place dear to brothers Benjamin and Marcel Jr. Dutreux, who are also involved with the organizer, since their shipyard, Eole Performance—based in Port Bourgenay—is a technical partner of L’Aventura. The winner will therefore be honored there at the awards ceremony on Saturday, September 12.
This daring race, organized by Estelle Graveleau and Rodrigo Rato, already seems to be winning over the Figarists, as we can expect 20 to 25 boats to participate—some 50 sailors who will help build bridges between France and Portugal for this Aventura, which is set to become a long-standing tradition
