Louise Acker

58 pt

DATE OF BIRTH: 11 January 1997
HOMEPORT: PLF
BOAT: CHOUQUETTE

Louise Acker began sailing in the bay of Douarnenez at a very young age. After numerous years in the Optimist class, she transitioned to Laser sailing, where she discovered high-level competition at the Training Center in Le Havre. Moving from the 4.7 to the Laser Radial, Louise engaged in rigorous training sessions and competitions. As she was eligible to compete as a senior sailor, she opted for a different path: Match Racing. Over seven years with the Normandy-based Match in Pink crew led by Pauline Courtois, Louise accumulated numerous titles, including three world championship victories! Remarkably, she achieved these performances while also holding a full-time position at the Normandy Sailing League.

Louise thrived alongside more experienced sailors, and each new experience fueled her interest and passion, such as her first foray into professional sailing with Mathilde Géron and Amélie Riou on the Diam 24 La Boulangère in 2019.

This season, she benefits from the expertise of Gaston Morvan and Victor Le Pape. After winning the Océane Challenge of the Région Bretagne – CMB program in December 2023, Louise is ready to tackle offshore challenges. It's a significant challenge for someone who had only completed five sailing sessions aboard a Figaro Beneteau before the selection and had never spent a night at sea. Her immense desire to learn, coupled with the versatility and adaptability gained during her years in match racing, will undoubtedly be valuable assets as Louise navigates this new journey.
