Born into a family of sailors, Nicolas Lunven entered the world of sailing at a very early age. While studying business and management, he competed in numerous regattas in France and abroad. His passion for ocean racing really took off with his first participation in the Solitaire du Figaro in 2007.
Renowned for his meteorological and strategic expertise, he gradually established himself as one of the leading sailors on the circuit. His career has been marked by numerous successes, including two victories in the Solitaire du Figaro (2009 and 2017), as well as three crewed round-the-world races.
In 2024, Nicolas achieved a remarkable performance by finishing 6th in his very first Vendée Globe aboard the IMOCA Holcim-PRB, confirming his place among the elite of offshore racing. Following on from this campaign, he then took part in The Ocean Race Europe, a crewed race around the European continent, again aboard the IMOCA Holcim-PRB. In 2026, the story continues with PRB, with a return to the Figaro circuit, a demanding class and pure performance format that has had a profound impact on his career.
